Physiotherapy is a healthcare profession focused on assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal conditions — injuries, chronic pain, movement problems, and post-surgical rehabilitation — through physical means. At PhysioLogix in West Perth, treatment combines hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and where appropriate, dry needling and clinical reformer Pilates.
Your initial consultation is 40 minutes. It starts with a thorough conversation about your condition — how it started, what makes it better or worse, how it's affecting your life. From there we move into a physical assessment covering movement, strength, and muscle function. Treatment typically begins in the same session, and you'll leave with a clear explanation of what's causing your problem and a plan for fixing it.
This varies depending on the condition and how long it's been present. Acute injuries often resolve within three to six sessions. Chronic or complex presentations take longer. We'll give you a realistic assessment of your expected timeline at your first appointment — and we won't give you a timeline we can't stand behind.
Some treatment techniques can cause temporary discomfort, particularly hands-on techniques that address tight or guarded tissue. We take your preferences into account — if you'd prefer lighter treatment or exercise-only, that's a conversation we can have. The goal is always to achieve the right therapeutic outcome with as little discomfort as possible.
